"Consciente" is Ka§par's second release from 2022, after "Presciente".
It pays clear homage to his Chicago House influences, so it's all about that classic culture sound.
"Quero Estar Contigo" smartly uses samples to construct a relentless disco groove with jazz funk feel and a 4-4 thump. Smartly sampled vocals give the track it's empathic motto, reminiscent of that unique soulful loopy approach by the likes of the great Paul Johnson or old school Glenn Underground.
"Fica na Boa" gets it's feel from energetic acid funk exercises. Crossing drum machines with mono synths and dirty stabs, this track feels like a collaboration between Cajmere and Gemini. Slick, jazzy lo fi drum hits, classic funk vocal samples and an irresistible funky bass line make this a peak time stank-ass floor-funk banger.
"Não Vim Para Esperar" wraps up the EP with a mellow spiritual vibe. Slower in pace and cooler in composition than either of it's fellow pieces on the record, "Não Vim Para Esperar" is Ka§par's take on the legacy of such artists as Larry Heard, Donnie Tempo, Son Dexter, Ricardo Miranda and many others. Analog sounds on bass, pad and beats, the track's dreaminess is only complemented by the spiritual jazz vocal samples that give it a reason to exist. Great deepness for those who treasure the wealth in the Chicago Housing Tradition.
